Lamardi Gras is a celebration with a local flare to benefit the Lamar Volunteer Fire Department. This annual event occurs the second Friday of February at Lamar Volunteer Fire Department located at 302 Bois D'arc, Rockport, TX 78382. Lamar is located just nine miles north of Rockport on Highway 35. The celebration starts Friday evening at 5-11pm and Saturday 10am to 11pm. Activities include a parade, live music, cold beer, themed food, auctions, casinos, and more.

Our event has grown over the years and thus our need for help has increased. We are working on streamlining our Volunteer Program with an online registration system. All proceeds go toward Lamar fire department facilities, equipment and training. The Lamar Fire Department is 100% volunteer and is one of three departments in the Aransas County fire fighting team.
